City Elections

The City of Stonecrest operates under the direction of the Mayor and City Council. The Mayor and City Council consist of the following:

  • Mayor
  • Council Member, District 1
  • Council Member, District 2
  • Council Member, District 3
  • Council Member, District 4
  • Council Member, District 5

Runoff Election Updates

Terms & Qualifications

Council members are elected to four-year terms. The mayor is also elected to a four-year term, but elected at-large. To be eligible to run for a city council seat, a person must:

  1. Be 21 years of age;
  2. Have resided in the city and in the district the person seeks to represent for at least one year;
  3. Be a qualified elector of the city;
  4. Meet any other requirements as established by state law.

The Mayor and Council serve staggered terms. The following are the terms currently being served:

  • Mayor - 01/01/2024 to 12/31/2027
  • Council Member, District 1 - 01/01/2022 to 12/31/2025
  • Council Member, District 2 - 01/01/2024 to 12/31/2027
  • Council Member, District 3 - 11/17/2022 to 12/31/2025
  • Council Member, District 4 - 01/01/2024 to 12/31/2027
  • Council Member, District 5 - 01/01/2022 to 12/31/2025

Voter Information & Helpful Resources

To register to vote, you must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Be a legal resident of Georgia
  • Be at least 17½ years of age (and at least 18 to vote)
  • Not be serving a sentence for a conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude
  • Have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge
