2021 Phase

Thanks to the City's share of SPLOST funding, we're investing slightly more than $7.8 million to repair and resurface more than 31 miles of Stonecrest roads as part of our 2021 paving program.

Stonecrest sets the priority for repaving using the Paving Condition Index (PCI) score, which is an industry-wide standard. This is a weighted score that factors in the road surface and road "roughness" (how a vehicle rides on the road). Sometimes these conditions are visible, such as potholes, cracking, and worn asphalt, while others are not and may need to be measured with special tools to help determine the final PCI score. Traffic volume on the road is also a consideration in determining the repaving schedule.

By following a planned approach for road maintenance, the City can make the best use of SPLOST funding while working to provide quality roads for the community.
