We are in the business of governing for the great residents of Stonecrest, Georgia. A great place to live, work, play, worship, shop and educate. Stonecrest is in proximity to downtown Atlanta and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Formed in 2017, the city is home to major commercial and industrial businesses.
Stonecrest offers an array of activities for families. Our Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area offers 33 miles of biking and hiking trails that are aligned with large granite formation, wetlands, lakes and an oak forest. Shop The Mall At Stonecrest
The Mall at Stonecrest is a 1.2 million square foot, two-level, enclosed super regional shopping center located at the heart of a 1,100-acre master planned community. Located in the heart of the city that bears its name, this work, play community consists of office, residential, entertainment, hotels, power centers, and restaurants. The center welcomed H&M and Round 1 Entertainment in March 2017 and features retailers such as Macy’s, Dillard’s and JCPenney.
Visit Nature Again
The Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve is a 2,500-acre nature tract at the center of the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area. The nature preserve is home to one of Georgia’s monadnocks, a unique geological feature of exposed granite. More than 12 miles of hiking trails take visitors across panoramic views, wetlands, pine and oak forests, streams, and two lakes. Parking is free and so is the use of the trails. Leashed dogs are welcome. Fishing is permitted at with a valid Georgia license. The nature preserved is connected to other sites in the National Heritage Area through more than 7,000 acres of greenspace along more than 30-mile long Arabia Mountain PATH.
Education Is Key
Arabia Mountain Highschool is highlighted as one of the top performing schools in the city of Stonecrest. It is an EIC Model School, providing an Environmental, Energy and Engineering Magnet Program for grades 9-12. Instructional programs provide a strong college preparatory, career oriented foundation. They infuse instructional programs with parent and student support through parental involvement tasks & service learning for students. Students wear uniforms to build a more structured culture. Classrooms are located in the adjacent Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve.
Emory Healthcare is the most comprehensive academic health system in Georgia, with seven hospitals and 200 provider locations in metro Atlanta and surrounding communities, including nearly 60 urgent care and MinuteClinics. It has more than 2,000 physician providers in 70-plus specialties, including more than 120 in primary care. With an additional 23 regional affiliate hospitals, Emory Healthcare has a footprint in more than 40 counties throughout the state.
