In 2025, the City of Stonecrest made meaningful progress on behalf of those we serve.

2025 Project Highlights

  • Completed more than 23 lane miles of road and street repaving
  • Integrated AchieveIt software to provide quarterly updates on all city projects, giving residents and stakeholders greater real-time visibility into current projects
  • Approved and rezoned Panola Park, a mixed-use development that brings 626 townhomes, 46 single-family homes, 150,000 square feet of commercial space, and 22,400 square feet of office space on 94 acres
  • As part of the Georgia Football Classic, a targeted business marketing initiative was launched to encourage visitors and residents to support local businesses

P and R Restrooms
  • Completed build-out of Southeast Athletic Complex restrooms
  • Completed upgrades to Browns Mill Recreation Center offices, classrooms, lobby, and gymnasium
  • Rezoned New Birth Village, a mixed-use development that brings 101 single-family units, 58 townhomes, 22,950 square feet of commercial space, 144 multi-family units, and 47,600 square feet of mixed-use space on 33 acres
  • Cultivated new relationships with schools and organizations such as Emory, Walmart, Publix, Lowe’s, Silver Comet Animal Alliance, LifeSouth Community Blood Centers, Childhood Cancer Research groups, among others, support increased visibility of Stonecrest events and programs
  • Distributed 800 food boxes and fresh turkeys to combat food insecurity for Thanksgiving
  • Processed all 381 open records requests received in 2025, effectively providing information to requestors per the Georgia Open Records Act
  • Implemented AP Automation, which streamlines the payment process for vendors and contractors
  • Introduced online payment options for hotel/motel, alcoholic beverage licenses and permits, and all other fee-related applications
  • Installed 12 mobile tablets and printers in city vehicles for the building, code enforcement, and land development divisions

Band
  • Hired an Economic Development Director, Communications Director, and City Municipal Arborist
  • Awarded contract to Inspire Placemaking Collective to update Stonecrest’s Zoning and Overlay Districts ordinances
  • Implemented more than 20 community special events, including Movies-in-the-Park series, Screen on the Green, Battle of the Bands, Fall Thriller, Christmas Lights Display, and more. And coming soon to Browns Mill Recreation Center – pickleball!
  • Adoption of TMOD 25-002 single/multi-family inspections referencing HB399, the accountability of residential landlords who live outside of Georgia.
