Capital Program

The Capital Improvement Program is administered by the City Engineer’s office for the City of Stonecrest. The City, started their own Capital Improvement Program since the incorporation of the city in 2019. Prior to 2019, DeKalb County was responsible for Capital Improvement Projects in the City of Stonecrest.

All Capital Improvement projects are currently funded by Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) and grand funding. The city is aggressively pursuing grand funding to supplement the SPLOST allocation.

Capital Improvements projects are selected from the City Council adopted Plans and Studies and recommended to the Council for funding by the City Engineer each year.

Prior to 2022, the City focused mainly on street paving. The City intends to work on other Capital Improvement projects such as sidewalk construction, intersection improvement, and traffic safety projects in the future.
