[ARCHIVED] Register for the 2026 Stonecrest Citizens Academy!

2026 Citizens Academy

Are you curious about how your local government works? The City of Stonecrest is proud to announce that enrollment for the 2026 Citizens Academy is officially open from Feb. 10 through Feb. 24.


The Stonecrest Citizens Academy is a free, interactive six-session program designed to give residents and business owners a "behind-the-scenes" look at city operations. Participants will meet city leaders, explore departmental roles, and learn how services are delivered to our community.


Session Dates: March 19, March 26, April 2, April 9, April 16, and April 27.


Session Time: 6 – 8 p.m.


Location: Stonecrest City Hall and Browns Mill Recreation Center


Cost: Free!


Qualifications and Submissions for Admissions

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Applicants must be a Stonecrest resident or a Stonecrest business owner.
  • To complete the application process, applicants will need to bring a government-issued ID and a printed copy of the completed application to City Hall. (If the ID does not have a Stonecrest address, then the Stonecrest business license should be presented.)
  • Applicants must commit to attending all sessions, including orientation and graduation. (Maximum of 1 excused absence with a makeup opportunity available). Orientation and Graduation attendance are required.
  • Applicants must have an interest in learning about the City of Stonecrest.
  • During an election year, applicants running for office or affiliated with a campaign are not eligible to participate until the election cycle is over.


Please note that class size is limited to 30 participants to ensure an interactive experience, so early registration is encouraged. Preference will be given to first-time applicants.


Applications are available online starting Feb. 10. Visit stonecrestga.gov/citizensacademy to submit your application.
