Stonecrest State of Emergency

City News Posted on January 23, 2026

With the forecasted severe weather expected throughout the metro region, the City of Stonecrest has declared a state of emergency.

All administrative buildings will be closed, including City Hall, Browns Mill Recreation Center, and all City parks and facilities, beginning Saturday, Jan. 24, through Monday, Jan. 26.

Monday's City Council meeting has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m.

"Our top priority is ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone within Stonecrest, and we encourage everyone to remain indoors, seek shelter, and stay safe, particularly our elderly and other vulnerable populations,” said Stonecrest Mayor Jazzmin Cobble.

Forecasts throughout the weekend call for freezing rain, sleet, and low temperatures. The City will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as necessary.
